The Philippines

The Philippines

A place to go if you love the 3S, the Sun, the Sand and the Sea, a paradise for the beach lovers!

Tips to travel to the Philippines!

The best time to visit the Philippines is during the dry season between November and April. I went in May and it was still lovely.

Depending where you are coming from, you need at least a full week to enjoy, there are lots of islands, more than 7000 islands, and the roads are not the best so bear in mind you will spend a lot of time on the road, airports and boats if you want to visit one more than place.

My 12th days itinerary in Palawan:

1st day Puerto Princesa: arrived by plane and took a van to Port Barton.

2nd day Port Barton: relax, read and watch the sunset.

3rd day Port Barton: chill, read and watch the sunset.

4th day Port Barton: went to white beach by boat.

5thday  Port Barton: Amazing boat tour run by a local.

6th day Port Barton: Took a van to El Nido.

7th day El Nido: beach hoping by bike (Nacpan beach, Lio beach and vanilla beach).

8th day El Nido: chilled at Lio seda hotel and had a huge brunch and watch sunset from las cabaƱas beach.

9th day Keeloma boat trip.

10th day Keeloma boat trip.

11th day Keeloma boat trip and arrived to Koron.

12th day Koron: Go to the airport.

As soon I arrived to Puerto Princesa I headed to Port Barton to spend some days just relaxing, reading and watching the sunset, that’s what I needed.

See more info about Port Barton here:

Then I took a van to El Nido and spent just few days there, rent a scooter and visited several beaches although the best way to visit nice beaches is by boat, El Nido offers a good amount of days boat trips, highly recommended.

In my case I already had booked a 3 days boat trip from El Nido to Koron, that’s the highlight of my trip to Philippines.

Then I arrived to Koron and I had to leave, I regret not having more time to spend in this area, but I am sure I will come back at some point.

In addition. I went to The Philippines in 2012, visited those places:

Manila: very disappointing, it does not worth to spend time in the capital but Intramuros is a nice historical place, take a tour if you have some spare time.

Batad rice terraces: spent few days hiking in the area, it’s beautiful but it took us ages to arrive, we took a night bus to arrive to Banaue, sleep there, then take a jeepney early in the morning and then a long walk, check travel times and rice terraces conditions.

El Nido: on the way we stopped at the under ground river in and take a ride in a huge zipline. We rent a motorbike and did beach hopping, and also did boat trip.

Boracay: a very popular place, it’s like Ibiza but in Asia. There are plenty of resorts and nice beaches. Good place for party. We meant to do kitesurfing but there was no wind so I did my first diving class!

Legazpy: we went just to swim with shark whale, it was an amazing experience but there was anything else. I would look for another place closer to your itinerary and check the place carefully as there are some places that feed the whales and are overcrowded.
