Hue - Vietnam

I did the DMZ tour while getting to Hue from Phon Nha. The tour was ok, the tunnels are impressive and it’s good to learn about history and see the tunnel. The tour guide was very funny! The museum was a bit poor, the tour guide explain nothing, I was expecting some sort of explanation. Hue is a cheap place to stay, there are dorms for 2-3$ and with breakfast included. Places to stay Sunshine hostel: nothing special but very clean and cheap with breakfast. Places to eat/drink There are lots of options Places to visit/ things to do The citadel: it’s a nice place if you like architecture and old buildings. You can walk from the town center or by tuc tuc. The abandoned water park: everybody who has been there like it...they say it’s small. The 3 tombs: you can combine this tour with the water park. The night market is also good, if you are brave enough you can try local food! If your next destination is Hoi An you can rent a scooter and do hai Van Pass. Your hostel can...

Ha Giang Loop -Vietnam

Image
Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark is located in the northeastern province of Ha Giang, a mountainous province located in the far north of Viet Nam.  Ride through the towering mountains and deep valleys of Ha Giang located close to the Chinese border in Northern Vietnam. Along the way you will encounter winding rivers, ethnic villages and the outstanding Ha Giang Karst Plateau. Riding for 3 days is enough, it can be quite tiring.  We rented bikes and did it on our own, at our pace, you can get a tour but it is going to be much more expensive. Bike cost 120kD 5$/day, a tour can be 100$/day. Accommodation is 5$/day and food is quite cheap. Summary Staring point: Ha Giang 1st stop: Dong Van, 160 km 2nd stop: Mau Due, 160 km (going to Lung Cu flag point first thing in the morning) 3rd stop: Back to Ha Giang, in our way we stopped for lunch here: Tâm Family Homestay https://goo.gl/maps/De7BnaMgPy12 That was a nice place, if you make it for the night, i...

Hiking Fansipan in SaPa

Image
Fansipan, at 3,143 metres (10,312 ft), it is the highest mountain in the  Indochinese Peninsula  (Vietnam,  Laos , and  Cambodia ), hence its nickname "the Roof of Indochina". It is located in the  Northwest   of Vietnam, 9 km southwest of  Sa Pa  Township. You can do it on your own and in one day, but i recommend it doing it with a group and local guides, we did it in 2 days and spent one night in a base camp so you can reach the summit before sunrise and when nobody is there yet as the cable car is not working yet! One of the most beautiful experiences I ever had! Trekking tour includes transfer to starting point, food, water, local guide and sleeping in the base camp. Trekking is hard, 11km but quite steep! Day 1 - Start at Tram Ton, 1900 m, after 2h hiking is lunch time (sandwich) at base camp 1, continue hiking up enjoying the view until reaching 2800 m (base camp 2) were having dinner (rice) and sleeping. Day 2 - Wake up ...
