Hiking Fansipan in SaPa

Fansipan, at 3,143 metres (10,312 ft), it is the highest mountain in the Indochinese Peninsula (Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia), hence its nickname "the Roof of Indochina". It is located in the Northwest of Vietnam, 9 km southwest of Sa Pa Township.
You can do it on your own and in one day, but i recommend it doing it with a group and local guides, we did it in 2 days and spent one night in a base camp so you can reach the summit before sunrise and when nobody is there yet as the cable car is not working yet! One of the most beautiful experiences I ever had!

Trekking tour includes transfer to starting point, food, water, local guide and sleeping in the base camp.
Trekking is hard, 11km but quite steep!
Day 1 - Start at Tram Ton, 1900 m, after 2h hiking is lunch time (sandwich) at base camp 1, continue hiking up enjoying the view until reaching 2800 m (base camp 2) were having dinner (rice) and sleeping.
Day 2 - Wake up at 3:30 AM to have breakfast (noddles soup) and start hiking before 5 AM so we could reach the summit before sunrise and before all tourists arrive with the cable car.
It was an amazing experience! I highly recommend it!
Then we chilled at the restaurant, you can go down with the cable car, but we prefered to hike down, views were beautiful again and going donw is much easier.
We had lunch at base camp 2 (rice) and continue going donw.

Tips
Local guides adapt to you, if you need more time they wait for you.
Food is simple, bring snacks and chocolates.
It’s very cold up there, bring warm clothes.
To hike at night, it’s better with a head torch.

Happy hiking!
