Shirakawago - Japan

The Historic Village of Shirakawa-gō is one of Japan's UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The valley is in a mountain region with considerable snowfall, and these villages are well known for their clusters of farmhouses, constructed in the architectural style known as gasshō-zukuri (合掌造り), which are designed to easily shed snow from their roofs.

We took the bus from the main train station in Kanazawa-Shi early in the morning to spend the day in the traditional village of Shirakawago. (Bus cost 3k¥ round trip and more than an hour to arrive, I recommend to book the bus in advance)
We hiked up to the view point but you can take the bus for 200¥ and then walk around the village taking a hundred photos!
Tips:
Irori is a good place for lunch, great menu, tasty food and reasonably price.
It can be cold, so take warm clothes.

You can visit the museum and several houses which cost around 300¥ each aprox.
Enjoy the day!
Love Japan!
